10/08/2017 – The super sharp 2017 CBR650F has arrived and is ready to hit the streets.

With one of the highest engine capacities of LAMS approved motorcycles in Australia, the CBR650F is the ideal street bike for riders who want a sport machine that makes sense seven days a week.

The 2017 CBR650F has a new 41mm Showa Dual Bending Valve (SDBV) fork with firmer compression damping, to improve rider comfort and handling.

The new free breathing exhaust gives the CBR650F a satisfying rush through improved flow management and front and rear tyres feature L-shaped air valves for easier maintenance.

An upgraded front fairing design channels airflow from the high pressure area at the font of the bike to the interior air box intake duct to improve performance. The new design also incorporates an LED headlight.

The high-set handle bars offer a more relaxed riding position and the low centre of gravity make the CBR650F the ideal partner for conquering corners on both the open road and in busy urban streets.

The engine is positioned further forward in the chassis for optimal weight distribution resulting in optimum handling and control.

The CBR650Fs twin 320mm front discs and single 240mm rear disc with standard 2-channel ABS offer confident and controlled stopping power.

The CBR650F is available in two colour variants for 2017: Millennium Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic. For more information on the entire Honda range, drop in to see us or call 03 5176 2399.

31/07/2017 – Honda’s next generation CRF250R is on its way with a December arrival and plenty of exciting upgrades - the wait for this allnew race beast is worth it!

The 2018 CRF250R has more engine power, upgraded stability and traction as well as a re-designed dual exhaust and titanium intake system to help get you that holeshot.

Notable changes found in the CRF250R; a new compact DOHC engine with rocker arms, higher valve lift, larger valve diameter and a higher rev limit resulting in a +5% power-to-weight and peak power at 2000rpm higher.

A new straight intake layout and dual exhaust system further enhance the power and speed range of the entire engine. Adapting an advanced Scavenge Pump system reduces engine friction and ‘pumping’ losses at high rpm which results in upgraded engine efficiency.

The CRF250Rs redesigned chassis gives the rider absolute control of this new powered-up DOHC engine.

Changes to geometry and dynamic parameters of the frame’s performance give the CRF250R enhanced starting performance, frontend stability and rear wheel traction.

The shorter wheel base on this 18YM distributes riders weight onto the rear wheel for far better rear wheel grip.

Weight reduction from a new titanium tank, lower engine mount and lower rear shock mounts give the CRF250R a lower centre of gravity and greatly improve overall stability and offer anti-front end lift.

Front suspension is now steel-sprung 49mm Showa USD front forks and smooth surface plastics make the CRF250R look more like its bigger motocross brother – the CRF450R.

For 2018, the CRF250R is also equipped with a compact, lightweight lithium-ion battery. Electric Start is now standard for superior start / restart and recovery especially in cold conditions where the lithium battery can sustain temperatures of -10 degrees Celsius. Kick start has been removed.

The three engine modes; as with the 2017 model are available on the 2018 CRF250R to maintain its versatility whereby riders can select from 3 different Engine Modes to accommodate different riding conditions and riding skills: Mode 1: Standard, Mode 2: Smooth and Mode 3: Aggressive.

Leaked images of this new machine circulated back in May where the 18YM CRF250R made its race debut at the Japan MX Championship in Hiroshima; ridden to victory by four-time 250cc class Champion in Japan, Takeshi Katsuya

This redesign will ensure the CRF250R achieves outstanding hole shot start acceleration and provide racers with exactly what they need and makes it Honda’s most competitive, durable and formidable 250cc race machine to date.

28/06/2017 – Following a positive test at Winton Raceway this week with Troy Herfoss; the Motologic based Honda team are ready to race the new CBR at Round 4 of the ASBK series at Darwin on the 8th and 9th of July.

With an injection of top end power and a sophisticated new electronics package, the 2017 CBR1000RR SP2 is the perfect evolution from the previous model, according the team owner Paul Free.

“We are all really looking forward to Darwin and the remainder of the championship now that we have this new SP2. The level of excitement within the team right now surrounding the new bike and the improvements it brings is fantastic, we feel more competitive than ever coming into the next round.“ Said Free.

Current Australian Superbike Champion Troy Herfoss is also feeling just as positive about the SP2s capabilities after more testing earlier this week; “The bike feels so well balanced and seems to offer more grip than I remember from the old bike, even on a very average day at Winton.” Said Herfoss.

“When I open the throttle I can open it so hard and so fast, yet the bike just lets me do it, lap after lap. Under brakes and corner entry feels quite different now, the whole engine braking – deceleration control system is so streamlined.” Herfoss Added.

The team are confident in the work they have undertaken so far on this new bike and will continue to improve throughout the remaining ASBK season.

“There are so many electronic functions we still need to work through and refine as we move along, but for now I couldn’t be happier for myself and Bryan to take this championship to the next level.” Said Herfoss.

Team Manager and head of the technical direction, Shaun Clarke is impressed with the progress so far. “The SP2 has been easy to work with, the chassis is so similar, we simply bolted the rear shock and fork internals from the old bike straight into the new one and it works perfectly. The new engine offers increased performance upwards of 10,000 rpm which is exactly the area we needed it, and the electronics are remarkable.” Clarke said.

“We have fitted the HRC kit electronics package to the bike and it works great, there is so much adjustability available, but in saying that its quite easy to navigate around, either within the dash where the rider can make mode changes on the fly or through the HRC setting tool on the laptop.” Clarke added.

Round 4 of the Australian Superbike series will take place at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin on the 8th and 9th of July.

13/06/2017 – For a limited time Honda is offering Africa Twin ABS cusomers a FREE upgrade to the auto DCT model.

With unmatched rugged durability and on/off road riding suitability, the Africa Twin has quickly become the number one Adventure Touring bike* in the short time it has been on the market.

MotoGP legend Daryl Beattie can tell a story or two about his experiences with the Africa Twin; pushing it to its limits when riding some of the most remote and harsh landscapes in Australia, including the famed Canning Stock Route from Wiluna to Halls Creek - covering over 2,000 kms of tough Aussie terrain.

Daryl chooses the DCT model for his adventure tours because of its ease of use in all conditions and for its reliability to get him from start to finish, hassel free.

“I love the DCT; it’s got everything I need for all of the different types of riding I do; prefect for commute riding and then when I’m in the bush the DCT just does all you need it to do.” Daryl said.

“You get the best of both worlds from the DCT as you gain the ease of having the auto but you can still switch to manual if you feel like it,” Daryl added.

The Africa Twin with Honda’s innovative Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) technology features the standard manual mode, allowing the rider to shift gears through a handlebar trigger, as well as two automatic modes. ‘D’ mode offers a fantastic balance of fuel economy and comfort cruising. ‘S’ mode has been revised to give extra levels of sports performance, with three different shift patterns to choose from: S1, S2 and S3.

In the spirit of adventure; the DCT technology has also been customised for the Africa Twin, with a ‘G’ switch on the right side of the instrument panel improving traction and machine control by reducing clutch slip.

This system also features incline detection, which adapts the gear shift pattern to match to the grade of incline, aiding overall control and allowing you to put more trust into your adventure machine when riding on those ‘roads’ less travelled.

The Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) system offers three levels of control, while the rider is also able to turn off the ABS system for the rear wheel.

The compact and lightweight chassis ticks all the boxes with outstanding off-road performance, touring comfort plus agile handling for everyday use. The steel semi-double cradle frame provides the perfect balance of high-speed stability, off-road agility and sheer strength.

The 1000cc parallel twin engine delivers impressive power and torque, with an ability to take riders through some of the roughest terrains in Australia with ease.

The Africa Twin is the best excuse you will ever have to get out and see the beautiful Australian countryside and with the added bonus of a free DCT upgrade, what’s holding you back? Hurry, adventure awaits!
